Class attendance will be tracked with the QP UniSI app, available in both the Play Store and Apple Store, and which students must install on their smartphones.
After a recognition, it turned out that there are about 60 free seats left for the 2024-25 edition of the Foundation Course.
Therefore, as of November 8, 2024, we have reopened registration until the remaining vacancies are filled and, in any case, no later than December 6, 2024.
The acceptance criterion is: First come, first served.
In any case, we can only enroll students who have sent in all documentation (including VISA and DoV/CIMEA certification).
Classes for those who (fully) enrolled and arrived in Siena by November 4 (Group 1) will begin on Monday, November 11, 2024; for everyone else (Group 2), on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Classes of both groups end in May 2024, with exams in June and possible retakes in July and September.
We have received information that many students, due to various force majeure causes, are delayed in arriving at Siena.
For this reason, classes will begin with a one-week lag on Monday, November 11. The timetable of classes will be published by today, Thursday, October 31, on this page.
In addition, there will be an orientation meeting on Monday, Nov. 11, at 16:00 in the Cripta classroom.
UPDATE: Due to unforeseen commitments, the orientation meeting is postponed to 17:00 (same classroom).

Given the many requests received to transfer from Group 1 to Group 2 and vice versa, we allow each student to choose which group to be registered in.
As Group 1 classes started in November 2023 and Group 2 classes in January 2024, each student should select his or her Group consistently with his or her attendance start. Both groups end the classes in May 2024.
The choice of a Group is mandatory and has to be done as soon as possible. Those who do not choose will not be able to register for midterms/exams.
To exercise your choice, please follow these instructions.
The Mathematics teacher had an accident and will not be able to teach class on Monday, Jan. 8 (neither Group 1 nor Group 2). He will notify students when he resumes classes.
At the closing of enrolment, we defined the division of students into groups:

The moodle page remains the same (link and registration instructions on a previous news). - Group 2: all other students (i.e., with matriculation number greater than 145704).*
Classes for this group start on January 8 and end in May 2023; the timetable is published on https://www.sem.unisi.it/it/didattica/calendari-e-orari/orari-lezioni.

Christmas vacation will begin on December 22 and end on January 7, 2024.

The timetable of classes for Group 1 has been published.
Classes begin on Monday 13 at 12:00 noon in Caparrelli A classroom.
We apologize for the delay, due to the need to reorganize the use of classrooms given the unexpectedly high number of students.
The schedule is not yet optimal and there will be adjustments and the timetable will be updated accordingly. We recommend checking it frequently, especially in the first week.
Group 1 consists of all students who have arrived Siena to date.
Group 2 classes start at the beginning of December (timetable TBA).
It consists of all the remaining students.
The University of Siena delayed the enrolment deadline for all undergraduate courses, including the Foundation Course, to November 24, 2023.
Later enrolment is still possible (annual study prospectus, sec. 4.1 on page 21), subject to the approval of the rector, who will consider the reasons for the late enrolment request.
Should there be a sufficient number of students joining late for visa reasons, we will arrange for additional classes, to begin in early December 2023.
The University of Siena, together with other Tuscany Universities and the Tuscany local government agency for university student support DSU signed a memorandum of agreement with the portal "Cerco Alloggio" ("Seeking Housing"), a web service meant to help landlords and tenants to get in touch with each other.
The portal facilitates students of the University of Siena to find rental accommodation in the private market even from a distance.
The service offered is free for all users (landlords and tenants).
On the "Cerco Alloggio" platform:
- You can consult in the portal ads complete with photographs and virtual guided tours of each room as well as address, prices, owners' contacts, and other useful details.
- Each accommodation on the platform, before its "publication" on the portal, is viewed and verified by the staff of Cerco Alloggio.
Use the direct link https://www.cercoalloggio.com/toscana/siena to browse for opportunities in Siena and surroundings.
Unfortunately, ads are typically in Italian: use one of the many web translation services (e.g. Google translate) to translate them in your language.
An orientation and welcome meeting for intake 2023-24 students will be held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Cripta classroom.
Students who are unable to attend this in-person meeting for a just cause may request to attend remotely by filling out this form by November 4, stating the cause.
If the cause will be found to be legitimate, students will receive the link to connect to the meeting, using Google Meet.
