NOTICE OF SELECTION FOR NO. 20 AWARDS/INCENTIVES FOR STUDENTS OF THE FOUNDATION COURSE A.Y. 2023/2024 ENROLLED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF ONE OF THE SEM BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SIENA IN THE A.Y. 2024-2025

Art. 1 - OBJECT AND PURPOSE.
1. At the initiative of the Departments DEPS (Department of Economics and Statistics) and DISAG (Department of Business and Legal Studies) and following the establishment of the School of Economics and Management (SEM), the University of Siena intends to award 20 study awards/incentives, in the gross beneficiary amount of € 2,500.00 each.
2. The Awards are intended for students enrolled in the first year of one of the degree programs of the SEM of the University of Siena in A.Y. 2024-25 who meet the requirements set forth in the following Art. 2 of this Notice.

Art. 2 - REQUIREMENTS AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS.
1. Eligible to apply for the awards/incentives referred to in Article 1 are students who possess the following requirements:
- having passed all the examinations stipulated in the Foundation Course and successfully completed;
- regularly enrolled in a.y. 2024-25 in the first year of one of the SEM degree programs;
- have completed at least 8 CFUs of the a.y. 2024-25 by Feb. 28, 2025;
2. Application is made from 12 noon on November 1, 2024 until 12 noon on March 15 2025, exclusively by accessing the personal area of the online Secretariat platform (https://segreteriaonline.unisi.it) - secretariat - Incentives, awards and scholarships; applications sent by other means will not be accepted
3. A curriculum vitae must be attached to the application.
4. To confirm the submission of the application, it is necessary and mandatory to make the "print final receipt" (valid for applying to the call, without the final printout you are excluded from the call for applications) to be kept; the receipt should neither be delivered nor sent to the Office for Scholarship, Study incentives and Mentoring, nor uploaded as an attachment to the application.

Art. 3 - EXAMINATION COMMITTEE AND SELECTION METHODS.
1. The Examining Committee shall be appointed, on the Department's instructions, by special order and shall consist of at least three members plus one substitute member.
2. For the formulation of the rankings, the Commission shall have no. 100 points, to be distributed among the requirements stipulated in Article 2 above.
3. The commission shall take into account the results achieved by the candidate(s) in the Foundation Course, the grade point average and the number of CFUs achieved at the end of the winter session of the profit examinations.
4. In case of ex-aequo, the youngest candidate shall prevail.

Art. 4 - GRADUATORIE AND AWARD GRADUATION.
1. The Commission draws up the minutes and formulates the rankings, which are approved by an appropriate measure of the University and published on the web pages of the Office for Scholarships, Study Incentives and Mentoring: www.unisi.it/borse
2. Applicants are required to view the outcome of the competitive examination at: www.unisi.it/borse
3. Awards/incentives shall be disbursed in one lump sum.

Art. 5 - INSURANCE COVERAGE AND TAX PROVISIONS.
1. The incentives referred to in this notice constitute scholarships and are subject to the tax regime referred to in Article 50, paragraph 1, letter c) of Presidential Decree 917/1986, which provides for a progressive personal income tax (Irpef), additional and municipal withholding tax and the recognition of tax deductions provided for income assimilated to employment.
2. In the event that the tax regulations are changed prior to the receipt of the grant, the recipient shall be promptly informed.
3. In the event that applicants hold other emoluments of any kind, they are required to verify their compatibility with the possible awarding of the above Scholarship.

Art. 6 - TREATMENT AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA.
1. The processing of personal data is carried out by the University of Siena exclusively for institutional purposes and, specifically, for the purposes of managing this call for applications; in the utmost respect for the principles enshrined in Article 5 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of personal data and, in general, as defined by the EU Regulation and Legislative Decree 196/2013 Privacy Code.
2. The Holder of the data processing is the University of Siena, legally represented by the Rector Prof. Roberto Di Pietra (e-mail: rettore@unisi.it; PEC: rettore@pec.unisipec.it). According to the Regulations of the University of Siena on the Processing of Personal Data (R.D. no. Rep. 56/2022 prot. no. 14879 of 13/01/2022), the Data Processor is the Head of the Guidance, Study Support and Career Service Division (e-mail: borse.premi@unisi.it);
3. The provision of data is mandatory for the establishment of the relationship necessary for the awarding of the prize, so any refusal will result in the impossibility of following up the awarding of the same.
4. As a " Person Concerned with the Processing" the recipient may exercise towards the University of Siena all the rights provided for in Article 15 et seq. of the European Regulations by addressing the Data Processor or the Data Controller. She/he also has the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority pursuant to Article 77 of the EU Regulation. In Italy, the function of supervisory authority is exercised by the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (https://www.garanteprivacy.it);
